Setting and achieving goals

Is there something you've always meant to do, wanted to do, but just ... haven't? Matt Cutts suggests: Try it for 30 days. This short, lighthearted talk offers a neat way to think about setting and achieving goals It's 3 minutes packed with inspiration.  Think about your adoption profile.  Specifically your journal or blog.  What if you committed to journaling something short and sweet about yourself, your past, your present or your hope every day for 30 days.  It only has to be a couple of sentences.   How powerful would that be?  You'll never know unless you try :-)

Drive, Determination, Ambition...and a little luck = Success

 

Last night I was notified that my daughter has been invited to attend the IU School of Ballet, the most prestigious ballet school in the country.   What’s that have to do with your adoption journey you ask?  Hear me out on this;

Since the age of three she’s been in ballet training.  From the age of ten training pre-professionally 25 hours a day during school and 50 hours a week each summer training.  Hundreds auditioned around the country and she was one of a handful picked.  Drive, determination, ambition, and sacrifice.  That’s what you face isn’t it?  You are one of many who are looking to make that one connection that gets you to where you want to be.  She's living a dream she's carried from the age of three.  It happened for her and it can happen for you.

Let's ease into Monday remembering to laugh

So much of life is out of our control.  It takes away the pressure when I remind myself of the fact that a power far greater than me is in control.  I take a deep breath, step back, and remember not to take life so seriously all of the time.
